More About Producer

On June 29, 2005, in accordance with the decision of the National Coordination Council of UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere Programme, the Camili-Macahel region in the Borcka district of Artvin province was declared Turkiye’s first biosphere reserve area by UNESCO. To this day, it remains Turkiye’s first and only biosphere reserve. The Camili-Macahel region is home to rainforests, endemic plant species, the protected pure Caucasian bee race, and 2,747 of the 10,000 plant species found in Turkiye. The untouched forest areas, the Efeler Gorgit Nature Conservation Area within the Camili-Macahel region, and the presence of the largest natural old-growth forest ecosystem in the vast geography encompassing Europe and Central Asia, along with its monumental trees, make this area exceptionally significant according to world natural conservation criteria. The Gorgit Plateau, nestled within these ancient forests, ranges from 1,600 to 3,200 meters in altitude and is rich in biodiversity. Produced in these pristine areas far from human activity, Gorgit Plateau Flower Honey is a treasure from this hidden paradise.
